For some reason, I am prone to losing my keys. I don’t know what it is, but it happens time and time again. I’ve tried several different methods, but nothing seemed to work. Once I lost my keys before going on an international trip! Luckily I found them just in time to get to the airport with only minutes to spare.
Recently I had the opportunity to check out the Tile app and device (Android and iOS). Tile allows you to find things quickly. Did you know that most people lose 10 minutes a day just looking for things.
How it Works
When you attach Tile to an item (like your keys), you’re really tethering them both to your phone.
Tile casts a Bluetooth signal up to 100 feet.
The app automatically records the last place your phone saw your Tile.
As the Bluetooth signal draws you closer, Tile’s distinctive melody will play until your lost item is back in safe hands.
Cool Facts
Tile works in three ways. You can ring it (within 30-50 feet), you can see it on a map (Tile remembers the last place you saw it ), and you can enlist the entire Tile community.
Tile is the only key finder app with “sharing,” meaning if you have a shared key (roommates/ mailbox key), you can share your wallet or keys with them so you can both find it if you are in a pinch.
Since using it, I’m happy to say that I haven’t lost my keys! Trust me, it makes life easier if you are prone to losing things like me.
