On October 5, 2013, Mohegan Sun Resort hosted their 2nd Annual Sun BrewFest. For just $25, guests were able to enjoy four hours of pure brew paradise. The BrewFest featured over 100 varieties of beers from around the world. The event, held in the Uncas Ballroom at Mohegan Sun, attracts hundreds of beer enthusiasts every year to experience new and old beers.
In addition to the beer, there were food stations. Attendees had the opportunity to purchase tickets, starting at $1, to buy an assortment of different types of food ranging from pizza to chicken and waffles.
As far as entertainment, there were foosball tables, air hockey tables, ping pong, a live performance from an amazing funk band called Major Motion.
Some of our favorite beers were the: Hooker Watermelon Ale, Stella Artois Cidre, Guinness Red Harvest Stout, Kona Brewing Co. Longboard, McKenzie’s Hard Cider Lazy Lemon
In addition to the festival, there was the BrewBrunch the following day. For $75 guests were able to eat buffet style for three hours at the Sunburst buffet. The Goos Island sponsored brunch menu consisted of traditional brunch food such as eggs, fruit, bacon and french toast, but with a twist. For example, drunken beef goulash, beer & cheese risotto, raspberry wheat french toast and seasonal Shock Top infused honey apple and pumpkin ice cream. An open bar of Goose Island and Shock Top varieties as well as sparkling wines and creative Bloody Mary recipes from Absolut we were also served.
