For all the New Yorkers who love going to the Hamptons, but hate the drive/ride, then The Rockaway Hotel will surely be your best option. Rockaway Beach is, personally, my favorite New York City beach. It has all that you need to keep you coming back for more, including great taco shacks, surfing, bars that range from beachy shacks to dives, a diverse mix of people and now, a pretty chic hotel.
Set to launch this summer, The Rockaway Hotel will be open year-round and will boast 53 guest rooms, eight “extended stay” suites, two on-site restaurants, and a rooftop pool and bar with ocean views.
The hotel is the brain child of IGC Hospitality, which is known for venues such as Refinery Rooftop, Parker & Quinn, Park Avenue Tavern, and Rockaway’s own Bungalow Bar.
To put the icing on the cake, the hospitality group is making sure that it is involved in the community. “Community engagement is one of our key pillars and we’re delighted to showcase local artists, designers, and filmmakers through rotating exhibits, events, and programming,” said Michi Jigarjian, the property’s chief social impact officer, in a statement.
The Rockaway Hotel will provide an Instagram worthy getaway for New Yorkers and others looking to get some sun on the beach or pool. See you there!
