When we think of romantic getaways, we often think of couple-specific activities and locations we may wish to visit. Lazily staying in bed until the early afternoon, eating in special restaurants and spending an evening walking along the beachfront are all considerations that come to mind. Yet it can also sometimes be that we may not have the freedom to solely stay with our partner, nor may we wish to.
It may be that you have a child, and you have no one to look after them while you’re gone. Or, of course, you may not wish to leave them at home with their relatives for a week or two, as you no doubt see your child, quite rightly, as an integrated part of the family unit no matter what. For this reason, a romantic getaway may have to shift in its scope a little, but there’s no reason why you can’t celebrate the love you share with your partner and enjoy a vacation as a small family unit at the same time.
Let’s consider some tips for achieving that:
Necessary Accommodation
Necessary accommodation for you and your family can be a great idea, of course, with two beds instead of just one. In some suites, you may be able to enjoy two double beds for both you and your partner and your child, or perhaps two conjoined suits. With Couple Travel The World, you can enjoy wonderful hotels that have necessary additions such as hot tubs, helping you relax and feel at total peace in this wonderful environment. Making sure certain accommodations have child-friendly facilities, such as changing areas, could be helpful too.
Child-Friendly Activities & Family Fun
Of course, you may not wish to spend your entire honeymoon in children’s playgrounds, but it could be that managing your trip accordingly could be a good idea. For instance, going to visit restaurants with fun children’s play areas may be a good idea (provided you go after Covid restrictions have been lifted and you’re happy with this arrangement), or you may decide to enjoy family fun in areas we can all appreciate, such as being beside the sea, or in visiting other family members, dropping in one morning or afternoon as part of your honeymoon travels from place to place. Remember – even spending time in resorts like Disneyland can be a tremendous honeymooning option, too.
Measured Indulgences
Of course, indulgences may not be as boisterous as they may have been if you were traveling solo, but you can still invest in them and enjoy the process as a family. It might be that you decide to treat yourself to a nicer bottle of wine, or take a day relaxing in a spa that welcomes kids, or even upgrade what accommodation you have to give yourself a little more space than you need. Sure, you might not be hitting the nightlife or overdoing things, but you can still have a wonderful, measured and relaxed time if you care to.
With this advice, we hope you can more readily enjoy the perfect romantic getaway, not in spite of, but especially because your child is attending too.
