Luxury car maker Bentley revealed its Continental GT Speed Convertible , showcasing it at the recent North American International Auto Show held in Detroit.
This 4 seat convertible reaches speeds of 202 mph, which makes this luxe machine the fastest convertible in the world. Of course, this fast automotive thoroughbred isn’t exactly efficient on fuel (only 12 mpg cruising city streets and 20 mpg flat-out on the freeway) due to its overall weight of 5, 500 pounds, but with a super-charged 6.0-liter W12 engine, it is able to produce 616 brake horsepower. It zooms from 0 to 60 mph in a lightning fast 4.1 seconds.
This speedy car is packed with luxury features like diamond-quilted upholstery, wood veneers, and a great neck warmer. Bentley has combined its history of luxurious interiors with the speed of a race car for its loyal clientele. According to the company’s website, other distinguishing features include: “… a red enamel winged ‘B’ badge, gloss black grille with bright chrome surround, three-segment front bumper and the ‘figure eight’ tailpipes at the rear.”
Though owners of this fine car may only use it in warm months, it is engineered to be an open-roofed sensation for those sunny days, but it is also practical for year-round use with an insulated four-layer cabin roof.
When fine design, ultimate speed, and elevated luxury are combined, it truly is a singular sensation. The Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible is that singular sensation that stands in front of any of its automotive peers.
