QLOCKTWO® celebrates time in a special way. Luminous surfaces and characters describe the time in five-minute steps. This idea originated in Schwäbisch-Gmünd, the hometown of the two designers and creative minds behind QLOCKTWO®, Marco Biegert and Andreas Funk.
With the QLOCKTWO® CLASSIC CREATOR’S EDITION SILVER & GOLD the successful QLOCKTWO® CREATOR’S EDITION series is complemented by another highlight. It stands for exclusivity with regard to material and workmanship as well as its unique character and consists of the fronts RUST, GOLD, RAW IRON, VINTAGE COPPER and SILVER & GOLD.
“With its front in patinated white gold (12 carat), the alloy which consists of equal parts of silver and gold, is a homage to its origins and to our hometown – Schwäbisch Gmünd – which has made a name for itself in history books as a historic gold and silver town,” explain Marco Biegert and Andreas Funk. The processing of gold and silver has been a tradition in Schwäbisch Gmünd since 1372. Today Schwäbisch Gmünd has more than 50 gold and silversmiths, jewellery designers and over 20 manufactories and factories. Jewellery offered by renowned jewellers in the world’s metropolises often comes from Schwäbisch Gmünd.
QLOCKTWO® continues this tradition in its very own form – modern award-winning design and the precision of laser cutting meet centuries of craftsmanship handed down from generation to generation.
“The idea regarding material and colour as well as the connection to history were obvious”, continues QLOCKTWO® founder Marco Biegert.
With the QLOCKTWO® CLASSIC CREATOR’S EDITION SILVER & GOLD, as with the pure gold version, the individual white gold leaves are applied by hand to a stainless steel base and refined in an elaborate patination process. Edge by edge, each letter cutout is processed. The oxidizing silver component produces an irregular patina, which is fixed after receiving the desired colouring and gives the surface its random and thus unique structure. This makes each watch unique within the small series – the perfect prerequisite for a QLOCKTWO® CREATOR’S EDITION. Depending on the perspective and light situation, the front unfolds its warm, shimmering golden appearance, which resembles antique art finds.
“One almost gets the impression that the patina of the oxidized silver accentuates the contained gold even more”, explains the second QLOCKTWO® founder Andreas Funk.
The QLOCKTWO® CREATOR’S EDITION SILVER & GOLD is initially available in a limited number in the size CLASSIC (45 x 45 cm) in over 20 languages.
