The Intern.

“Few weeks ago, the fashion industry was collectively blindsided by rumors that Kanye West was interning at Gap. Given the fact that the rapper has collaborations with Nike and Louis Vuitton under his belt (both of which were sneakers), not to mention he has made himself a fixture at Fashion Week and talked effusively about wanting to fully involve himself in the industry, it’s no surprise he wants to be taken seriously as a designer. But does that really mean emptying trash cans and sprinting to Starbucks on behalf of execs at the retail giant’s headquarters in NYC? Not exactly.

According to the Chicago Tribune, West’s internship “apparently [involves] working side-by-side with pal designer and creative director Patrick Robinson, who was reportedly hired to spruce up the label.” In other words, the intern-as-slave stereotype doesn’t exactly apply here. And West’s involvement with the Gap may not end there. “It has been speculated West is looking to launch a line of clothing for the Gap, but so far, those reports have not been confirmed.”
