The Rockport Company® recently invited LuxuriousPROTOTYPE.com to view their latest Men’s collection for the Spring 2013 season. For Spring 2013, Rockport designers researched top global trends in men’s fashion and footwear and translated them into a collection that addresses all wearing occasions for the metropolitan professional consumer, enabling him to not compromise style or comfort. The collection was created with three key trends in mind – In Pursuit of Happy, Dynamic Fusion and Back to the Land – all of which promise lightweight, style-driven styles that are on-trend for consumers everywhere. As always, Rockport’s exclusive adiPRENE by adidas sport technology is featured in all men’s styles.
In Pursuit of Happy
To lighten the mood for spring where minimalist design meets kitsch, Rockport wanted to deliver a whimsical, color saturated collection of footwear to brighten people’s days from the ground up. Coastal Springs is a nautical line of boat shoes – ranging from two eye, three eye, chukka and moccasin styles – with colorful soles in shades of caramel, captain’s blue, oil green, ox tan and navy. Other styles include the Summer Tour boat shoes available in brighter colors such as light blue, red and navy all in nubuck materials with contrasting colored soles. Rounding out the trend is the Barefoot Boat collection, which is a lightweight technical sailing shoe that is designed to be worn barefoot available in two-eye and lace-up styles.
Dynamic Fusion
The Dynamic Fusion trend for Rockport represents technologically advanced shoes with clean lines and a modern aesthetic, available in subdued tones of mineral yellow, burnt sienna, dress blues and captain’s blue to name a few. A key group in this collection is the DriveSports Lite, which takes a traditional driving moccasin and infuses it with lightweight cushioning technology in the sole, available in one eye, penny moc and Venetian styles in beautiful suedes and leathers. The Clearview 2 collection is a contemporary collection of cup soled dress sneakers with a retro feel, available in one eye, chukka, lace up and wingtip styles, which boasts a surprisingly lightweight silhouette based on the unique sole that features adidas technology. Finally, there is the truWALKzero Touring collection, which is the epitome of this trend. Taking classic T-Toe and wingtip leather and suede uppers and combining them with the super flexible, athletic truWALKzero sole, the result is a uniquely hybrid dress shoe that is appropriate for the boardroom as well as in the city.
Back to the Land
Back to the Land represents craftsmanship in natural elements, including earthy yet modern materials like saddle leathers, linens and touches of hemp and braiding. The color palette is inspired by earthy vegetation and includes rich browns, dark ketchup reds, faded denim blues and oily greens. The Dialed In collection features classic men’s dress styles – cap toes, plain toes, slip-ons and wingtips – with slim profiles and high buff and shine through an all over burnished leather. The shoes also feature a Rockport exclusive dot print silk lining for a pop of color on the inside. Another dress style is the Ledge Hill Saddle, which has combination leather/suede uppers in a traditional saddle silhouette. The saddles feature eye catching color combinations such as ketchup and vicuna (tan) or rocksand and navy, again with colored soles for a festive effect. The Parker Hill is reminiscent of handcrafted, bench-made styles. Available in combination canvas and leather uppers, they include elegant dropped tassel, apron front and wingtip styles that are perfect for barefoot wear.
The Spring 2013 Men’s footwear collections will be available worldwide beginning January 2013 at premium retail locations in select markets including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Russia, Italy, Spain, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Greece and on Rockport.com.
