You see them everywhere, but where is yours? People say all the time, “It takes a certain kind of man to wear a bow-tie.” And they are right. It does. But they don’t tell you what “kind of man” it takes. Simply, it takes confidence. Coupled with a heavy serving of humble pie, a bowtie can add a instant level of dapper without being pompous.
These simple steps will keep you from looking snobbish while styling your tie with a bow!
Mix with Prints:
Bowties are not just for the conservative banker or the southern gentlemen. You’ll find the most unorthodox men sporting a bowtie while still being true to their unique, bold style.
Flirting with the bowtie: Mix with a plaid shirt that contains the minimal color in your bowtie.
Dating the bowtie: Coordinate your bowtie with polka dots.
Married to the bowtie: Mix with an animal print! (If you’re bold)

Lose the blazer:
Put away the suit and leave the sports blazer at home. The bow-tie holds its own and will still clean up your looks minus your favorite sports blazer and that new silk pocket square.
Flirting with the bow-tie: Throw on a simple pair of khakis and a white shirt. A clean, approachable look.
Dating the bow-tie: Add on some suspenders, style your hair in a new way, and your favorite unconventional bow-tie. The pompous leaves, the style stays!
Married to the bow-tie: Wear a jacket that you wouldn’t normally wear with a button up. Dust off the leather jacket and introduce it to your bow-tie!
Forget the silk and explore:
Bow-ties are no longer just made with one shape or with just one fabric. Try exploring different fabrics to add personality to this traditional look.
Flirting with the bowtie: Knitting is no longer for nana!
Dating the bowtie: Embrace the wood work!

Married to the bow-tie: Combine trend with tradition with a leather bow-tie with gold accents or studs!

Great article. Lots of RTs when I posted it. Even from the ladies. Looking forward to follow-up with images people send in.
Impeccably well developed inspiration on the stylings of Bowties. Impressive compilation good brother.
Very insightful read! I can’t wait to go try some of these looks out for myself! What I find refreshing is that as of recently you have seen a lot of women playing with the tuxedo look and pulling it all together with a bowtie.
One more point: I think it would be cool to have a link that takes you directly to the product so that your readers can have insight on where to purchase. Otherwise, thumbs up on this read!
