Heron Preston recently debuted his Fall/Winter 2018 collection, titled “Public Figure,” which is an aesthetic riff on influencer culture and self-declared celebrity and debuts new categories for the designer including luxury handbags, footwear, and eyewear.
During Paris Men’s Fashion Week, Preston showed a collaboration with Carhartt WIP in addition to a collection with NASA that utilizes The National Aeronautics and Space Administration agency’s authentic 1975 logo, consisting of the word “NASA” in a unique type style that was nicknamed the “worm.” The NASA “worm” logo, originally discontinued in 1992, is resurrected with Preston’s FW18 collection in commemorating NASA’s 60th Anniversary. NASA will celebrate its 60th anniversary on Oct. 1, 2018, as Preston’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection lands in stores.
The pops of the red against their standard orange makes for a bold statement. I’m very interested in seeing Heron’s trajectory. His collections and collaborations are always refreshing.
Below are some of my favorites from the collection:
