When the “Great Gatsby” was written, it captured the heart and soul of the 1920’s. A decade of American fashion firsts built around luxury. And the first decade in America, when men’s fashion took off with the help of newly-minted icons such as the Prince of Windsor (the windsor knot for ties bears his name), Charles Lindbergh (the leather bomber jacket), and Al Capone (the fedora and pinstripe suits). Those who weren’t pushing the limits of men’s fashion were making their way to Brooks Brother’s to get suited up in traditional shirts, suits, and ties.
