For Bottega Veneta’s Cruise 2014/2015 Collection, emphasis was placed on painterly colors, fluid lines, and intriguing dying and bleaching techniques. The result is men’s looks that are relaxed and unselfconscious in appearance, yet on closer inspection reveal unusual craftsmanship.
The men’s palette emphasizes black, navy, burnt red and espresso, but also incorporates sky blue, mist, flamingo, sage, palm, pale and sand.
The men’s shirts, trousers and jackets are all meticulously tailored, yet versatile and casual in appearance. The materials are lightweight and transitional, including crisp cotton, cotton-linen and viscose.
Of particular interest this season is the idea of bleaching and the possibilities that can be achieved from a process often left to chance. Techniques specially developed for this collection include innovative ways of printing, frosting, overprinting and dipping the fabrics to arrive at the desired effect.
“The essential starting point for Cruise is always the feeling of comfort and ease,” says Creative Director Tomas Maier.
