After the Milan menswear show, the Alexander McQueen design house announced that it would collaborate with Savile Row tailor Huntsman. This new collaboration will be a bespoke men’s tailoring service. The Alexander McQueen label will open its new menswear store at 9 Savile Row in London.
The bespoke suit effort fits well with the roots of Lee Alexander McQueen. McQueen’s avant-garde style seems far from his traditional training in bespoke tailoring on Savile Row. McQueen was rumored to have stitched curse words into the suits of the Prince of Wales.
This new clothing shop will feature McQueen’s ready-to-wear menswear and accessories. At the same time, it will be a site for men to have their bespoke wardrobe fitting via the Huntsman collaboration. This fashion teaming will be a fusion of the McQueen fashion silhouette with the Huntsman tailors’ expertise. These hand-made tailored suits are expected to be priced in the several thousand dollar range.
