Badoo, the world’s largest social network for meeting new people, is looking for 1,000 New Yorkers to be part of the largest photoshoot the city has ever seen.
Dubbed The Badoo Project, the campaign kicks off with a three-day mammoth photoshoot from Thursday, March 22 through Saturday, March 24. Four of America’s hottest fashion photographers – who have worked with Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Kelly O and Kings of Leon, and whose work has appeared in titles ranging from GQ to Vogue – will undertake the ambitious task of capturing the portraits of 1,000 New Yorkers, to be used as their ultimate online profile picture. Watch the photographers talk about what makes for the perfect profile pic at: http://youtu.be/HnGjIZPCb7g
The portraits will be gifted to each New Yorker that has their picture taken, to glam up their Badoo.com and other social network profile pages; giving them a great way to meet up, chat up and – potentially – pair up with new people for fun. In the age of online dating and social networking, a gorgeous profile shot is worth its weight in gold. Hopefuls and budding stars can register to attend the shoot at www.badoo.com/theproject.
Badoo will then shortlist 24 of the best portraits from the shoot, and, based on personality, energy and individuality, give those finalists the opportunity to introduce themselves to NYC in a unique and high impact way – by appearing on billboards, painted building sides, and a whole range of other media around the streets of New York during April. What better way to meet new people?
Celebrity fans of Badoo will also be in attendance at the photoshoot to get their profile pictures taken. They will share their Badoo experience, as well as give tips on everything from how to take the best profile picture, break the ice with new people, or make new friends in a new city.
According to Jessica Powell, CMO at Badoo:
Badoo is all about being yourself, having fun, and being open to new experiences, and this photoshoot is the perfect way to illustrate that. We want to celebrate New York’s unique style, and can’t wait to see what swagger people bring to our shoot!
