Hundreds gathered to honor the extraordinary achievements of notable African American men in the community at The Made Man Foundation’s Day of Service Celebration & Awards Reception presented by Wells Fargo and the National Urban League. The Made Man Foundation is a global initiative that recognizes men of color who champion philanthropy and are making a difference in their communities. The vision is to uplift & engage accountable male leadership for the under served by creating a sustainable socio-economic, gender & racially equitable society for our communities. The event day included mentoring young males, a scholarship presentation to students of Eagles Academy, a charity suit drive for young professionals and town hall discussion on the state of black men in America.
The celebrity star-studded red carpet reception celebrated Marc Morial, President, National Urban League; Ambassador Dr. Barfour Adjei-Barwuah, Ambassador of Ghana to the United States of America; Dr. Kingsley Lington Ighobor, Acting Managing Editor, Africa Renewal UN Department of Public Information; Paxton Baker, Chairman, United States Congressional Award Foundation; Council Member Robert Cornegy, (D-NY) District 36; Karrin E. Wilkes, Interim President of the Borough of Manhattan Community College and Jason Martin, CMC, Managing Director, MCCGUSA LTD, Arvo Realty Advisors along with over 60 celebrities, dignitaries, and influencers who have made immeasurable contributions to the New York area.
Visionary & Founder, Ky Dele received citations of acknowledgement from Congressman Hakeem Jeffries(D-NY) as well as a proclamation from the City of New York from Congresswoman Yvette Clark (D-NY). Attendees enjoyed an evening of great food at the Brooklyn Chop House and complimentary signature cocktails by Ciroc VS, E&J Gallo Winery, Marcel Rose, MillerCoors & Plush Vodka. The Made Man Foundation will continue its world tour to honor men in the community visiting multiple cities across the country and internationally throughout the year.
