The Scene: Guggenheim’s 2016 Young Collectors Party
On Thursday, March 31st, the Guggenheim Young Collectors hosted their annual YCC Party. Every year young patrons gather in the rotunda of the Guggenheim Museum for a night filled with dancing and art. The funds raised from the evening benefited the Young Collectors Council Art Fund to support the acquisition of works by emerging artists for the museum’s contemporary collection. For the third consecutive year, major support of the Young Collectors Party was provided by David Yurman.
A great party wouldn’t be great without an awesome DJ. In this case, DJ MeLo-X kept the crowd going with impromptu live musical remixes, sound design, and electronic production.
For those that didn’t want to dance, they had the opportunity to view a portion of the current exhibition Peter Fischli David Weiss: How to Work Better, as well as the museum’s Thannhauser Collection of late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century masterpieces by artists such as Paul Cézanne, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Vincent van Gogh.
Make sure to check out the Guggenheim.org for their current and exhibits.
