The New York Junior League hosted their 41st Annual Golden Tree Shopping event from Thursday, November 29th through Saturday, December 1st, 2012 at the beautiful Astor House in the Upper East Side neighborhood of New York City. While guests shopped in the multi-level house, they sipped champagne and cocktails provided by Maker’s Mark, including the new Makers 46.
The NYJL transformed the Astor House into a veritable one-stop shopping destination, with a large variety of vendors offering goods ranging from clothing, apparel and accessories to kitchenware, linens and gifts for the home. Who doesn’t like shopping boutique style while eating and drinking? Gentlemen, we were in luck! There were several booths that sold men’s products such as ties, pocket squares, and jewelry such as: Alton Lane and The Fur Palace.
There are several great things I can say about the women of New York Junior League, however, I’ll just stick with one for now. They’ve mastered the art of hosting a fun-filled fundraiser! Please be sure to check out their site for up-to-date information on their next event at www.nyjl.org
The NYJL is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Since 1901, the NYJL has been a leader in identifying and responding to unmet community needs. Through direct service, collaborations with other community organizations and advocacy, the NYJL provides a positive force for change within the communities it serves. Each year more than 2,700 trained volunteers donate more than 250,000 hours of their time to better the lives of women and children in New York City. The NYJL works with more than 20 community-based organizations and public agencies to deliver services and assistance directly to women and children in need.
