On Saturday October 26, 2013 the New York Junior League hosted their 19th Annual House Tour. Ticket holders gathered on the night of Friday October 25 for the kick-off reception were guests were able to pick up their passes, while enjoying prosecco and light bits in the Upper East Side Milly store. More than 400 guests attended the house tour with past and current designers of note including Robert Couturier, Matthew Yee, Christopher Hyland, Campion Platt, Sara Story, James Rixner, Bjorn Bjornsson and Vicente Wolf.
On the morning of the actual event, guests gathered at the Astor House (NYJL headquarters) for their gift bags and breakfast. The self-guided tour featured 9 of Manhattan’s most prestigious and luxurious residences.
During the course of the day, guests were able to stop at either Farrow & Ball, Ethan Allen or Ankasa for champagne breaks. Who doesn’t like a champagne break while viewing beautifully designed homes? In addition to the champagne breaks, guests were served an amazing lunch at the Architects & Designers Building. Some of the dishes were, shrimp skewers, fresh salad, chimichurri cheddar and chicken chorizo pizza, pepperoni pizza and more. It probably was one of the best slices of pizza I’ve ever had!
After viewing a selection of some of New York’s spectacular homes, a cocktail reception was held at Safavieh, a high-tech and high-touch Manhattan home design showroom.
This annual event continues to get better and better each year by adding new and impressive homes. For more information about the New York Junior league and their events, please visit www.nyjl.org
