Invite: Guggenheim’s Host 2016 Young Collectors Party

Who: Young Collectors Council cochairs Noreen K. Ahmad, Alexandra Economou, and Anne Huntington; artists whose work is represented in the Guggenheim Collection, such as Lucas Blalock, Alice Channer, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Jennie C. Jones, Jamian Juliano-Villani, Amie Siegel, Naama Tsabar, and Jonas Wood; as well as members of the host committee, including Liddy Berman, Evangelo Bousis, Claire Distenfeld, Taymore Grahne, Dalia Oberlander, and David Rothschild
What: 2016 Guggenheim Young Collectors Party to benefit the Young Collectors Council (YCC). An intimate dinner with YCC co-chairs and the host committee will be held in The Wright restaurant, and will be followed by a celebration with music, dessert, and drinks in the museum’s rotunda. Funds raised from the evening will benefit the Young Collectors Council Art Fund to support the acquisition of works by emerging artists for the museum’s contemporary collection. For the third consecutive year, major support of the Young Collectors Party is provided by David Yurman.
MeLo-X, whose DJ sets are known for impromptu live musical remixes, sound design, and electronic production, will provide music for dancing throughout the night.
Guests will have an opportunity to view a portion of the current exhibition Peter Fischli David Weiss: How to Work Better, as well as the museum’s Thannhauser Collection of late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century masterpieces by artists such as Paul Cézanne, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Vincent van Gogh.
