Einstein Emerging Leaders 3rd Annual Gala
On Thursday June 19th, Einstein Emerging Leaders (EEL) of Albert Einstein College of Medicine held their third annual gala at Marquee, raising nearly $80,000 bringing their annual fundraising total to more than $200,000. The event featured organizations such as The Institute for Aging Research, which set-up an “Aging” Jenga game, where guests could answer questions related to aging. They also had a raffle for table service at Marquee. Also represented were the Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC), who were educating guests regarding their services and the best ways to support their work.
The gala co-hosts of the evening were Matt Makovsky, CEO and founder of SKYLABS, and TC Cosby, director in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Mortgage and Structured Products; the gala Executive co-chairs were Danielle Segal, Associate at Cravath, Swaine and Moore LLP and Joanna Steinberg, Founder of Parcel & Journe. The Emerging Leaders Team put together a fabulous event with a top notch open bar, passed h’oerdeves and various hot food options, with popular favorites being the pulled pork and grilled vegetables.
The EEL board honored Robert Ostfeld, M.D., MSc., and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine (Cardiology) at Einstein, as Board Member of the Year. He received a golden stethoscope for his work on educating underserved communities on their health and helping to greatly raise the profile of the EEL board. Dr. Ostfeld briefly spoke about his involvement with the board and how dedicated he is to working with the EEL board and continuing to live and support the mission of Albert Einstein.
