Last night, Thursday September 27, 2012, Jay-Z opened the doors to his chain sports lounge, 40/40 in the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Taking a cue from his popular Manhattan location, Jay-Z kept the essence of the original lounge, but made it all Brooklyn to fit the motif of the center. As you may know, Jay-Z is part owner of the Brooklyn Nets that will be starting their season in the new arena. Of course his closest friends and family were there, including: Rihanna, J. Cole, and Lyor Cohen. Other notables: Tika Sumpter, Frederick Solomon, Joe Johnson & Deron Williams. Where was Beyonce?
“I walked around here earlier and I just seen everybody busy and at work trying to finish up and it was a great feeling,” Jay-Z told the press at the opening, MTV reports. “A guy stopped me in the hallway and said, ‘Man this is a great thing for New York City.’ And that’s what the whole thing was about.”
Congrats Jay-Z on your opening of the 40/40 Club in the Barclays Center!
