Actress, philanthropist, and author Leesa Rowland, along with Larry Wohl, hosted her “Masquerade Ball” at the Angel Orensanz Center in New York City.
The event showcased stunning costumes, style, and beauty, and featured a special tribute to Studio 54’s Carmen D’Alessio. Her birthday was celebrated by recreating her iconic emergence from a birthday cake onstage, replicating a similar celebration from 40 years ago.
Inspired by Truman Capote’s legendary “Black and White Ball,” this year’s event transformed into an exquisite “Black, White, and Gold Masquerade Ball.” Guests wore their finest attire and spectacular masks while enjoying cocktails and dancing to live music. The evening also included a captivating dance performance—a baroque-style ‘Vogue’ directed and choreographed by Marcella Hymowitz—and a thrilling drumline surprise by the Brooklyn United Music & Arts Development Center.
Event décor, cocktails, and dinner were curated by Hank Stampfl’s Revel Rouge, featuring vegan dishes crafted by Chef Carlos Manansala and expertly mixed cocktails from Acquolina. Leesa Rowland added many personal touches to the soirée. Fashion designer Marc Bouwer designed Leesa’s costume for the event.
