About Jussie
Jussie has been studying the business of show since the age of four. As 1/6 of the ultra-talented Smollett family of entertainers, he is best known for his acting. From playing opposite Halle Berry and Danny Glover in Queen and his roles in Disney’s The Mighty Ducks and Rob Reiner’s North to starring alongside his siblings in the ABC sitcom, On Our Own, Smollett is no stranger to the industry.
Once in high school, he realized that although still in love with acting, there was nothing he wanted more than music. He continued to write songs and put them away. It wasn’t until he traveled to Switzerland to work with Swiss hip hop star Bligg and pop star Emel that he started pulling from his experiences and writings to create his sound.
Now in his 20’s, Jussie Smollett is gearing up for the release of his EP, Research, this fall. A mix of classic soul and pop mixed with alternative and hip hop beats, Smollett is being described as an urban Adam Levine meets George Michael brewed in a cup of MJ.
