Feeling A Little Parched? Summer Drinks 2010.

 Its summer time and we are now approaching one of the hottest months of the year, August, so we need to make sure our bodies are thoroughly hydrated. If you are thinking I’m talking about H2O then you are wrong. Its summer, there is still fun to be had!! But I do advise drinking water..hmmm perhaps after you finished your drink or the next morning after drinking your drink. “DRINK RESPONSIBLY“. Below are a list of some Summer Drinks that will quench your thirst!

Mint Juleps (Group Size)

Ingredients:

  • 3 bunches of fresh mint
  • 4 oz water
  • 4 oz bourbon or dark rum
  • 1/2 cup super fine sugar
  • 2-750ml bottles of bourbon

Mix all ingredients above together in a large mixing bowl. After the drink is well mixed chop the mint into fine pieces then strain into another punch bowl. Now add two 750 ml bottles of bourbon. Garnish with a mint.

Champagne Mojito

Ingredients:

  • 6 mint leaves
  • Sugar
  • Ice
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 2 oz aged rum
  • 2 oz champagne

Muddle the mint leaves and sugar in a highball glass. Fill the glass with ice, add the rum and lime juice and stir gently. Top with the chilled Champagne.

Whiskey Sours (Group Size)

Ingredients:

  • 1-750ml bottle of whiskey
  • 6 oz lemon juice
  • 6 oz simple syrup

Stir all ingredients above together. To serve, shake 3 oz with ice and strain in cocktail glasses. Garnish with a orange slice and cherry.

Vera Rush

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 1/2 oz pineapple juice

Pour the rum into a glass filled with ice. Then fill the top of the glass with pineapple juice.

Mish Mash

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz white rum
  • 1 oz coconut rum
  • 2 oz lime juice
  • Sprite/7UP

Fill a tall glass 3/4 with sprite or 7UP. Then pour in the white rum, coconut rum and lime juice.
