BET Rising Icons w/ Melanie Fiona and Kid Cudi.

The call time for this event was for 2:30 pm, I on the other hand made it there at 3:30 SMH. So I walked up to Claudia (mad cool), said my name and got my wrist band (below). I proceeded to go into the lounge area where drinks and snacks were served. We (the cast) waited till about 4:30 until they seated us, in groups. I was in Group 2. I was OK with that, which meant I had second row from the stage.

Melanie Fiona was amazing! Very sweet young lady and beautiful voice. She is the next big thing. We had to do a couple retakes on account of her wardrobe problems, but it was nothing crazy, I didn’t mind. Melanie had a band with two background singers, that sounded AMAZING!

Kid Cudi was a character! He was mad funny, he kept us laughing. Apparently he didn’t have any thing memorized to say for the camera so the PA’s had to feed him info into his ear. I liked that he was just laid back. One of the big points about his set was that he had a string section playing his music. Make sure you check out his new unreleased single “Pursuit of Happiness” its DOPE. Below is a snippet from another show he did. Overall, I had a good time.
